We used glow in the dark star stickers to form the constellations for The Big Dipper and Hydra the Sea Serpent (which I knew nothing about prior to this project! However, apparently it's the constellation right below The Big Dipper in our glow in the dark constellation book.)

We also counted how many points a star has (5) and also how many sides it has (10). So, we put 5 stickers on each point to help C. remember that.

Our display for our star unit. For this unit (stars/camping) I liked the books "Camping Day" by Usborned Books and "The Night Sky" also, by Usborne. The Night Sky is definitely for older kids, but it was still good to use as a reference. Usborne On Line Show It's hard to see, but there's some little strings hanging down (off a skewer stick actually--just happened to be what I had!) and I put the sun and the planets in order in relation to the sun. (which I have to say, there are varying answers as to how many planets there are out there now! Frustrating! They say Pluto isn't one any more and in some places it's listed as a dwarf planet and then other places listed a few more planets I'd never heard of. Oh well, he's THREE! He gets the idea.
