I used trains in homeschool-preschool by using sidewalk chalk and drawing tracks all over the driveway with "letter stations." My son had to travel the tracks and when he came to a station, he had to shout the letter and it's sound, then he could "chugga-chugga-choo-choo" to the next station... he loved it!

Thanks Christin! :)I'll have to figure out a way to adapt that for indoors since I live in MI. :)

Are you friends with Amy?

Becky, Yes, Amy and I are friends through Andy and Lawernce Tech here in MI. I live in this freezing state too!!!! We did our "train" lesson in the fall when it was nice out side!

Blue's Clues has a great episode called "Alphabet Train." Basically, 26 boxes with letters on it and Blue and friends put toys and things that start with a particular letter in the right box.
